Damage caused by Wednesday's storms
The National Weather Service declared a tornado emergency Wednesday evening in Maury County. One person was killed in the storm and at least five others were injured. Many homes, like the one above, caught up in the path of the storm received significant damage or were destroyed.
Maury County was also heavily impacted by flooding: Spring Hill received just under 2 inches of rain in 40 minutes, leading to flash flooding across the county.
Farther North, severe flash flooding inundated homes and businesses, like in this image from our Sky 5 helicopter in Gallatin. Tuesday evening, radar indicated parts of Robertson and Sumner Counties had received more than seven inches of rain in the last 24 hours, on top of additional rainfall from storms on Monday.
